I suppose this whole site counts as a project maybe even an interesting one for those who aren’t web design inclined like my self.
For starters I have never been a web design kinda person I live in the backend and on small intigrated electronics and ho boy is dealing with the honestly mess that is making a site for the modern web. The number of weird edge cases where this looks one way on one browser and completely different on another is highly frustrating. Maybe I kinda dove into the deep end with a static site generator and spending so much time messing with a theme to get it to look even close to what I would want out of it but gah daym it feels like I’m working with a startup again with how mess the documentation is.
What ever though at the end of the day I managed to get something together and I think it looks pretty good at least. Hugo is also an interesting tool not having to write HTML each time I want to add something to the site is a huge win and once I figured out how the fuck tailwind CSS is setup that was pretty nice for making pages a little more flexible in terms of where they can be displayed. I’m sure theres still bugs that I’ve missed though and not much I can do about that but wait till I see them or someone says something.
I don’t much care for making UI and this is like all UI at the end of the day but I’m happy to have gotten it done.
